Activities And Competitions - 2014-15
The Students and teachers actively participated in the various competitions and brought a name for the school.

Celebration of International Yoga Day on 21st June.

World Environment Day celebrated, we planted saplings in the nearby ground to develop a sense of love for nature.

Independence Day and Republic day were celebrated with lots of enthusiasm.

Ganesh Utsav, Dahi Handi and Eid were celebrated . Where students prepared idols of Ganesha .

5th September and 14th September were s celebrated as teachers Day and Hindi Diwas. Students participated in various competitions: Elocution, essay, drama, poem recitation etc. Prizes were also distributed.

We paid tribute to The Father Of The Nation: ‘Mahatma Gandhiji’ by conducting programmes like Swatchhata Abhiyan, Street play, rally, etc.Students were highly motivated by the belief and encouraging thoughts of Gandhi

15th October was observed as A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (ex president of India) Birthday .
‘Vachan Diwas’ was celebrated on this day. Book exhibition, chart making, reading competition etc. was conducted. We also had a rally ; wherein our Chief Guest Mr. Baldev Sharma(Chairman Of Rotary Club) participated along with us.

Students actively participated in Camlin Drawing Competition organised by Rotary Club, Prizes were also distributed.

23rd December Annual Sports Day was Conducted with the help of students and staff; various sports activities like band ,lezim, mass drill, florics etc. appreciation by the honourable guest boosted energy level of the students and staff.

Celebration of Children’s Day and New year party was arranged with great pomp and show.

3rd January was celebrated as ‘Balika Diwas’ marked as a birth anniversary of Savitri Bai Phule. Essay competition, elocutions and drama were conducted based on ‘Educate and Save Girls Child’.

The Scout Guide camp under the guidance of Mr. Bharat Joshi for two consecutive days.

Amchi Shala Programme was conducted for standard V to VII by the Rotary Club.
Activities And Competitions - 2015-16

Handwriting Competition: There was a handwriting competition organized for Hindi, Marathi and English languages. Students from Std V to Std X had participated in this event. The event concluded with the Prize distribution for the winners.

Drawing Competition and Jingles making: .There was a Drawing Competition and Jingles making event organized on 09 Oct 2015. The topics included were ‘Beti bachao, Beti Padhao’, ‘Swachchh Bharat’ and ‘Swachchh Vidyalaya’.The event concluded with the Prize distribution for the winners. The CD of the same has been sent to the department.

Not only in Academic but also in all events of co-curricular activity. Our students, the rising stars scored exceptionally well and managed to get good positions.

Celebration of “Guru Purnima”:(on 31 July, 2015)
wherein the following events were organized.

Fancy Dress Competition: There was a fancy dress competition organized in which students from Std V to Std X had participated in this event. The event concluded with the Prize distribution for the winners.

Group Singing: Group singing competition was conducted in which students from Std V to Std X had participated in this event. The event concluded with the Prize distribution for the winners.

Elocution Program: There was an elocution program organized in which students from Std V to Std X had participated in this event. The event concluded with the Prize distribution for the winners.

Antakshri Competition: Students had participated with great enthusiasm in Antaksharicompetition ,Jhilmil group managed to win the final round. . The event concluded with the Prize distribution for the winning group.

International Yog Divas: 21st Jun was announced as an International Yoga Diwas by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. We at our school had organized a 30 mins session wherein we not only performed Yoga but also informed the benefits that we attain by doing Yoga. We encouraged the students and the school staff to inculcate Yoga in their daily routine.

Burn Prevention and Fire Safety: A workshop was organized by Rotary Club and Marshall wallpaper to educate our school students and staff about Burn Prevention and Fire Safety. The speech was delivered by Prasad Balsara from National Skin and Burn centre Airoli which turned out to be very informative. Following were the topics covered during the session
o Types of burns
o Causes
o Preventive measures of the burn
The session was finally concluded with a Test just to ensure that the school students and staff have really been benefitted with the information provided with regards to different types of burns and its preventive measures.

Young Woman Leadership Program: This initiative is more towards women empowerment where in Avanti foundation provided a vision encouraging women to come forward and take leadership positions. Students were informed the strategy to boost self-confidence, significance of team work and execution. They Performed drama on girl child’s education, rights of the girl child, equality between man and woman and concluded with things that girls should be aware of.

Happy Reading Day (Birth anniversary of Abdul Kalam): In remembrance of our great national leader and teacher Mr Abdul Kalam we celebrated Happy Reading Day on his birth anniversary i.e. 15 Oct. The celebration included distribution of story books in each classes and informed the significance of this day.The day ended with a Prize distribution to the best reader of the day.

Nagar Kirtan (Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji): There was a procession ceremony held on the birth anniversary occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Devji and Sri Guru Gobind Sing ji which ended at Gurudwara Sahib Dadar.

Hindi Diwas:HindiDiwas: 14h Sept was identified as a day to celebrate Hindi Diwas. Following activities took place during that day
o Speech :The day ended with a Prize distribution for delivering an excellent speech.
o Doha Recitation: The day ended with a Prize distribution for Doha recitation.
o Poem Recitation: The day ended with a Prize distribution in poem recitation

Teacher’s Day: Teacher’s day celebration was performed on 04th Sept in the premises (Hall) of Guru Nanak School where in all the students had an opportunity to listen to the live speech delivered by our prime minister Shri Narendra Modi and our president Shri Pranab Mukherji.

SamvidhanDiwas: This event was celebrated in the school premisies and MrsNeelamChawla gave a very informative speech about the ‘Indian Constitution’. The students not only learnt from the valuable inputs provided but also took a pledge that they would always abide by the rules and regulations that form the Indian constitution.

Kala Mahotsav: Following events were organised on 08th and 10th Sept 2015
o Folk Dance – This event took place in Blossom High School situated at Marine Drive. This event was led by Miss Soni and JaspreetKaur.
o Drama (Based on Maharasahtra culture): The teacher incharge was MrsShaila and Chhaya

AamchiShala: This is an yearly event that was organized for the students of Class V and VI. The objective of the event was to develop skills and values that would help the students in their day to day life. They were informed about the importance of demonstrating team spirits, significance of cooperation and help them develop feeling of respect and manners.

Janagrah Civic Program: This weekly session was conducted by Vikas Sir for the students of Class VIII where the objective was tto provide information on Civic Life. Students had made projects on Cleanliness and Disaster Management. There were lectures provided on Save Water Save Life.

Health is Wealth: This seminar was conducted by WHO educating us about the thyroid problems that develop in ladies and what precautions can be taken to control it.

Sports Events: This event was conducted on 22nd Dec where in following sports activities were performed under the guidance of Mrs. Mohinder Kaur and Mr.s Shaila Patil.
